Scott Memorial Library Computer Use Policy
Computers in Scott Memorial Library and the Computer Classrooms in Jefferson Alumni Hall (JAH) are connected to the Academic and Research Network (ARN). All computers require user authentication using a Jefferson Campus Key or a guest pass issued by a member of the Scott Library staff. Library staff can assist new students, faculty, and staff with their Campus Keys at the 2nd floor Access Services Desk.
Once authenticated, users have full, unrestricted access to:
- Internet sites and Web searching
- Jefferson LMS (Canvas)
- Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- In the Computer Classrooms: Software applications for computer-based learning, informatics, clinical decision-making, graduate medical education, statistics, graphic/text scanning, and word processing.
Jefferson has an official policy about the use of computers, email, and other forms of electronic communication, which applies to all students, faculty, and staff. Please read the student handbook and policies so you will be aware of your rights and obligations as a computer user.
The library's computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Laptops are available for checkout from the Access Services Desk on the 2nd floor.
