Policy for Use of Student Study Spaces at Scott Memorial Library

Scott Memorial Library provides group and individual study spaces for Jefferson students.

Group Study Rooms on the 2nd floor, rooms 200B-200K

  • These rooms are for study groups of 2-7 students. Individuals should not use these rooms alone.
  • Students are responsible for promptly leaving the room at the end of their reservation. If there is no succeeding reservation, the group may stay until the next group reservation begins.
  • Do not leave belongings unattended. Items will be removed and held at the Access Services desk where they can be retrieved with proper identification.
  • Rooms are available from 8am-2am, Sunday - Saturday.
  • Reservations can be made up to one week in advance for up to 4 hours per day. Reservations require the names and campus keys for all members of the group.
  • Computer support is available from the Access Services staff. All computer support equipment and components - cables, keyboards, projectors - checked out must be returned before the Access Services desk closes. Groups not returning computer components when asked will have any existing reservations cancelled, and members of the group will be unable to make new reservations for 30 days. Members of the group will have their names reported to the appropriate dean(s).
  • Students are responsible for putting their trash in the trash bins and cleaning the work surfaces before leaving. Cleaning wipes can be found between the restrooms on the 2nd floor.
  • All group study rooms are equipped with white boards. Rolling white boards are not permitted in any of the study rooms.

Individual Study Rooms on the 3rd floor, rooms 313-318

  • These rooms are for individual study and require a key which can be checked out at the Access Services desk.
  • Students are responsible for promptly leaving the room and returning the key to Access Services at the end of their reservation.
  • The rooms are available during Access Services' operating hours.
  • Reservations can be made up to one week in advance for up to 4 hours per day.
  • Students are responsible for putting their trash in the trash bins and cleaning the work surfaces in the room before leaving. Cleaning wipes can be found between the restrooms on the 3rd floor.
  • All individual study rooms are equipped with white boards. Rolling white boards are not permitted in any of the study rooms.
