Genealogy Resources
The Thomas Jefferson University Center City Archives and Special Collections has digitized several resources to help you in your genealogical research. Below are tips to help you search our online materials.
Start by confirming the graduation date of the person you are researching. You can do so by looking at the relevant alumni directory index:
- Jefferson Medical College (1826-1990)
- School of Nursing (1893-1990)
- College of Graduate Studies (1914-1990)
- College of Allied Health Sciences (1968-1990)
Once you have identified the correct graduation date, run a name or keyword search of Historical Collections using the Search box on the left-hand side. Knowing what year the person you are researching graduated will help you identify the most relevant materials from the search results. The search function, while very helpful, may not give you complete results, so we also recommend you browse the collections.
Some of the collections you may want to browse include:
- Jefferson Medical College Matriculation records
- Jefferson Medical College Catalogs
- Jefferson Medical College Yearbooks
- Jefferson Medical College Alumni Bulletin
- Nursing Alumni Bulletins
- Commencement Programs
