Borrowing Privileges
Alumni
Alumni are welcome to use the Gutman Library's print and media collections. The library is open to alumni Monday — Friday, 8 a.m. — 5 p.m. The library is not accessible to alumni on weekends or after 5 p.m. on weekdays.
Getting an Alumni Card
Contact the Alumni Office by emailing alumni@jefferson.edu. The first alumni library card is free, but lost cards that need to be replaced will result in a $25 fee. This ID card gives you access to the library building. At this time, Alumni do not receive borrowing privileges but are welcome to use print materials in the building. For access to library computers, please visit the Technology Help Desk on the ground floor.
Using Study Rooms
Alumni who present a currently valid alumni library card at the circulation desk will be granted access to a study room as long as no current students are waiting to use a room. If alumni are using a study room, the library reserves the right to ask that the room be made available to any waiting students. There is a limit of four hours for use of a study room. Alumni may not reserve a study room in advance.
Interlibrary Loan
Due to agreements and shared policies, Gutman Library is currently unable to offer the Interlibrary Loan service to alumni. However, reference staff can try to identify local libraries holding specific items for alumni. Alumni may choose to contact a local public library for materials, as these institutions often have Interlibrary loan services available to their patrons.
Reference Services
Alumni can make requests by calling the Gutman Library Reference Department (215-951-2848).
