You are incorrect - our patient's second heart sound at the upper left sternal edge shows persistent expiratory splitting.
Your choice: Single S2
This is a graphic example of a single second heart sound.
Single second heart sounds can be heard at the upper left sternal edge when the intensity of one component is decreased, as may occur with semilunar valvular stenosis when the valve is immobile. It may also appear to be single when one component is increased and masks the other component. This may occur with hypertension.
